Remodel of Victorian farmhouse to relocate entrance and kitchen.
This project was for the ground floor alteration to this Victorian former farmhouse located with extensive views over its own lake and the countryside. The brief was to create a better layout to the much extended farmhouse to give a better flow of spaces to the hub of the house in the kitchen with a new entrance area for guests and a self contained boot room for the busy family. The design evolved to create a covered inset porch and a long vista towards the lake from the entrance with a better connection to the beautiful garden and view out over the lake. The overlarge and underutilised kitchen was moved closer to the lake and view into a room with a much higher ceiling which has views in three directions and is of a better size and feel for this large house.
